Why do taxes for free?
Many families struggle when having to make the decision between paying rent, buying groceries, purchasing medication, or paying for someone to do their taxes. We remove this barrier by having an amazing and well-trained team of volunteers helping low-income families file their taxes for free and get the best return possible.
Families get their taxes done for free and volunteers get an amazing life experience with robust training that will shine on their resumes.
Shifts and Locations
The application process includes completing an application form, clearing a background check, completing a certification, and signing paperwork at an onboarding session. The volunteer will only have their shifts confirmed when they finalize the application process.

You will receive the training by email once the background check clears. All volunteers have access to online training and can do it by themselves at their own pace (the average length of training is 20 hours for Basic Level + 10 hours for Advanced Level). We will also host two in-person training sessions in January 2020. These sessions are not mandatory, and they are designed to provide all the information you need to get certified on the same day.
Jan 11 → In-Person Training Session 1
Jan 18 → In-Person Training Session 2
Jan 24 → Onboarding Session (mandatory)
Jan 28 → First Day of Tax Season
Apr 17 → End of Tax Season Celebration
