Our Community Services for Families Case Manager Tessa recently shared the following:
“I worked with Jonah, a father of eight children, for almost a year. Unfortunately, the majority of this time he was experiencing homelessness.
From the beginning, however, he remained focused on meeting with me and ensuring his children’s safety, learning new parenting techniques, working, and looking at countless housing resources.
Then one day I received an unexpected call from him that I will never forget.
All he said was “Guess where I am?” I was at first puzzled but instantly overcome with joy once he shared more.
Jonah replied, “I’m home.” Those simple words filled my heart in ways I cannot describe. Jonah went on to complete parenting services with me successfully and was reunified with his children. This father finally found housing for himself and all his children, bunkbeds in every room, but their own place to sleep, live, and grow together as a family this holiday season and beyond.”
